PURPOSE:

The goal of this educational program is to provide an introduction to the special education IEP development process, legislative history, and principles of advocacy. Processes are taught on how to access accurate, reliable, timely, individualized, and child specific longitudinal information that is vital to effective decision-making, in almost every aspect of the IEP process. It’s absence will result in bad decision making by all IEP members. The scope of what can be measured and enumerated in the form of data is widening almost continuously and dramatically changes the way in which special education needs are remediated and what is considered best practice from one year to another.
